The We Thinkers! series helps children build foundational social competencies and essential life skills through stories, lessons, and play activities. The teachings help kids better understand themselves and others, develop self-awareness, perspective taking, social problem solving, and supports students’ social-emotional learning, and relationship building.

I am in Control of Myself is 1 of 4 kits produced as part of the MySELF Social Emotional Learning Foundations program. This program is available for Pre-K to Grade 1 students. I am in Control of Myself is a reading-based social emotional learning program that comes with six short stories about different types of self-control and prosocial behaviors.

Students learn about the importance of peer relationships and how they are beneficial. Introduces various strategies to develop and maintain peer relationships. Topics include: what is a peer, conversation skills, sportsmanship, and healthy / unhealthy relationships.

Draw It Out invites kids to share their emotions, identify their support system, and clarify misconceptions—validating and normalizing their experiences. By encouraging expression and discussion, Draw It Out provides a creative vehicle to teach social and emotional learning strategies while building resilience.

AHS WELLNESS KIT: BE KIND TO YOURSELF & OTHERS

Be Kind to Yourself and Others is an AHS mental health wellness kit for grades 4-6. This kit provides students with information on a variety of topics related to mental and physical wellness including peer relationships, stress, healthy communication, and body image. Students are taught the skills needed to nurture their overall wellbeing.

Safety at Home teaches students the skills to be physically and emotionally prepared to handle being home alone.

  • basic first aid

If possible we partner with Lethbridge Police Service Youth Engagement Officers and / or the Lethbridge Fire Department Education Outreach to help deliver lessons.

We have three versions of this program: Kids Have Stress Too for grades 1-3, Stress Lessons for grades 4-6, and From Stressed Out to Chilled Out for grades 7-9. These programs provide students with foundational mental health knowledge and concrete strategies for coping with stress. The program normalizes experiencing stress and helps students to identify their own stressors and coping strategies that are useful for them.

Everyday Heroes is a 3 session program encompassing topics that focus and reflect on stress; how it affects our bodies along with various ways we can manage and cope with it. The highlight of the program culminates with its emphasis on gratitude, kindness, and the importance of appreciating the unsung heroes in our everyday lives.

This a uniquely designed presentation having elements pulled from AHS approved programs and made relevant to today's teenagers. The presentation is one full class period that covers discussions and topics such as:

  •  Analyzing healthy vs unhealthy relationships.

Brain Smoothies are art-based exercises that provide a mental break, foster focus, and energize the mind. The Brain Smoothies program is based on unique, research-informed exercises that use visual art processes to help access a state of mindfulness at school, work, or other knowledge intensive contexts.
